Whyte and MacKay

Various issues were discussed regarding recent St Andrews day events and lack of communication regarding amount of product. It was noted that W&M have confirmed sponsorship of WESTA 2008 event although no further details have been discussed. ATAC committee accepts there was nothing covert in Tam Coyle’s dealings with W&M on WESTA’s 2008 event but not on any other clubs, and accepts Tam Coyle’s explanation of misjudgement in this matter.

  • Tam Coyle to seek meeting with W&M to discuss W&M’s intentions for 2008.

  • ATAC to discuss W&M at next meeting.

Uefa Fans Meeting

Tam F went over agenda for Uefa fans meeting on Tuesday in Geneva. There was discussion over the aims of the change to the 60 day rule. While the letter to Fifa/Uefa stated the request for venues to be set at the fixtures meeting, if pushed for an actual figure, 150 days would be used.

  • Tam F to try to talk to David Taylor informally before the meeting or seek guidance from David Finlay with a phone call.

Fans Embassy review

A review of the fans Embassy activities for the campaign took place and while there were no real major issues to deal with, it was agreed (and this was backed up by comments from non ATAC SSC members in passing) that the Fans Embassy is a great idea. Jim B mentioned that it’s a great meeting place, knowing that other TA will be at a certain place at a certain time.

Tam F suggest there needs to be more committed attendance in the future, reps being there when they say they will. Tam F mentioned that in discussions with Derek Kirkwood, he suggested a name change from Fans Embassy to something more suited to the Tartan Army. Committee agreed to continue with Fans Embassy (albeit under a different name) and this will be discussed over the next few months, including to any timetable/format changes.

ATAC/SSC 7-a-sides

Campbeltown were the only club to provide a note of interest in hosting the 2008 7-a-sides. Discussion took place regarding the 2008 gathering but the committee voted to keep 7-a-sides separate from the gathering, primarily in order to get 2 weekends on the bevy in June next year. Campbeltown were awarded the 2008 7-a-sides unanimously, with the weekend for the 7-a-sides being Sat 14th June.

  • Tam F to relay this info to Davie Patterson of CTA.
